Oscar winning actress Natalie Portman is set to star in and produce a film adaptation of the novel “The Fable of the Dragon Tyrant” by M.T. Anderson, The film will be directed by Marielle Heller who previously directed the movies “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” and “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”.
“The Fable of the Dragon Tyrant” is a fantasy novella about a young girl named Anya who must save her kingdom from a dragon, The novel was published in 2005 and was a Newbery Honor book.
Portman is a longtime fan of the novel and has been working on bringing it to the big screen for years, She is also a producer on the film alongside Heller and Amy Pascal.
